Done-for-you retainers
Private betaKarmakar Venturesgithub.com/letslego/dfy-agent-ops

A retainer desk for people who actually run agents for clients — not a second Slack channel.

Onboard the client, attach playbooks, schedule and close runs, work the overdue escalation queue, log time, and generate a weekly status note from that activity. Internal ops software, sold as a done-for-you service.

Who it's for

Founders and small agencies selling done-for-you agent retainers who are tired of inventing the weekly update from memory.

  • Operators running inbox, SEO, social, or recap playbooks on a weekly cadence
  • Agencies that pause or churn accounts and must not keep scheduling runs
  • Anyone whose “ops desk” is currently a Notion doc and a guilty feeling

The problem

The work happened. The hours did not. The escalation sat past dueAt. Friday’s status note is a vibe. Clients cannot tell a retainer from a chatbot subscription because you cannot show the week.

What breaks without it

  • Runs live in chat; nobody can list what is due today.
  • Escalations have no overdue computation — everything is “open.”
  • Weekly notes get written from memory instead of from runs, minutes, and tickets.

How it works

Concrete path through the private beta — not a capability cloud.

  1. Onboard a retainer

Create the client, hours, and a standard checklist. Kickoff flips the account to active. Paused and churned clients cannot have new runs scheduled.

  2. Attach playbooks

Library of reusable runbooks — steps, cadence, effort. Demo library includes inbox SLA sweep, social pack, SEO health check, competitor watch, and weekly recap.

  3. Run the desk

Schedule, start, complete / fail / skip. Minutes become time logs. Escalations compute overdue when dueAt is past and the ticket is still open.

  4. Ship the weekly note from activity

A rolling 7-day status markdown plus metrics. If the week was empty, the report says so. You do not get to invent a narrative the ledger cannot support.

Proof points

From the working repo and demo scripts. Design partners welcome. No fabricated case studies.

  • Desk console on :3847 plus a CLI for the same operations.
  • Seeded demo uses three labeled demo retainers — Meridian Coffee Roasters, Northstar Legal, Harbor Fitness — not customer logos.
  • Harbor’s seed includes a failed SEO crawl and overdue escalations so the queue is honest.
  • Tests cover missing playbooks, paused clients, duplicate open runs, overdue vs resolved, and empty weeks.
  • This page sells the retainer. The software is how the retainer is run. Book a 15-min pilot if you want either.

FAQ

Is this a public marketing site for my agency?

No. DFY Agent Ops is the internal desk. This landing page is how we describe the done-for-you retainer to design partners. Your clients never need to see the console.

Do you run the agents, or just the desk?

The product is the desk. The offer is done-for-you: we (or you) attach playbooks, hit cadence, and send a weekly note generated from runs. A pilot clarifies which side of that line you want.

What does overdue actually mean?

A ticket with dueAt in the past that is still open or acknowledged. Resolved tickets are not overdue. The queue filter is a query, not a sticker.

Can paused clients still get runs?

No. Paused and churned accounts cannot have new runs scheduled. That is a hard rule, because retainers die from zombie cadences.

Where do the weekly notes come from?

From the rolling 7-day window of runs, minutes, and escalations. Empty weeks produce an empty-week report. Out-of-window runs do not pad the story.
